Shutterbugs Photographic Group, based in Alhaurín el Grande, is a group of amateur photo enthusiasts living in and around the Guadalhorce Valley, Andalucia, Spain.
The group is open to photographers of all skills, from beginner to advanced. Help is available to beginners. Private one on one lessons/workshops are available.
The group generally meets on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month, the first meeting is indoors and the second is an outside photo shoot at a selected location, normally with two particular subjects chosen. The assignment is for each member to present two photos for judging. Please check on the Calendar for the latest dates and meetings.
In addition, we have a monthly subject and members submit a photo for judging, along with a monochrome photo each month.
Every two months we have a digital photo competition, with photos submitted, shown and judged online.
If anybody would like to come along, either to the home meeting or a shoot, or if you are interested in private lessons, please use the contact page to ask for directions and times etc.
A guide to the membership rules is available here
We hold our monthly meetings at Venta la Recta, and we go for a monthly shoot as well. If you would like to come along and see what we do, please go to the contact page for more information.
The annual inter-club photo battle, between us and Lake Viñuela was held on the 11th May this year. Finally it was our turn to win again! You can see all the entries and scores here
We also have a very active group on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/609281033454943
We have some 50 active members there now, so come along to the group page, take a look at what is going on and feel free to post some of your own photos there.
Our Annual Exhibition was at the Casa de la Cultura in Alhaurín el Grande. If you were not able to come along in person, you can see all the photos here
We are also posting some short training videos, covering things that were discussed recently or to give you some ideas on ways to process your photos.
The examples will be mainly in Affinity, but for the most part the techniques are valid for most processing programs.
Any questions or suggestions then please contact John C ,at the Shutterbugs address or to his Whatsap. Click here to go to the videos
